Locum Echocardiographer – Essex

Contract Type: Locum (Full-time or Part-time)
Rate: £45–£55 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3–6 months (with potential extension)
Job Summary:
We are currently seeking an experienced Locum Echocardiographer to join a reputable NHS Trust/private clinic based in Essex. The successful candidate will be responsible for independently performing and reporting adult transthoracic echocardiograms in a high-quality and patient-focused service.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform and report adult transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) to BSE standards
Operate advanced echocardiography equipment (e.g. GE Vivid, Philips iE33/Epiq)
Work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary cardiac physiology team
Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all procedures
Maintain high standards of patient care and safety at all times
Requirements:
BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent
Minimum 2 years’ experience in adult echocardiography
BSE accreditation (preferred but not essential if highly experienced)
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Valid Right to Work in the UK and enhanced DBS
Full compliance for locum work (immunizations, references, etc.)
