Director of Business Development
Our client, a specialised healthcare market research organisation, is in search of a Director of Business Development.
Joining the Leadership Team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the Company Strategy alongside the Managing Director. Your primary focus will be on leading key strategic initiatives, actively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within specified customer accounts, and achieving sales targets.
·Collaborate with the Leadership Team to shape and execute the Company Strategy
·Lead key strategic initiatives as directed by the Managing Director
·Actively prospect and pursue new business opportunities within specified customer accounts, achieving sales targets
·Cultivate enduring relationships with key decision-makers, gaining in-depth knowledge of customer organizations and influencers
·Identify customer needs, propose tailored solutions, and engage new clients in collaboration with Research teams
·Oversee follow-up processes related to sales and drive completion of contractual documents
·Maintain productive relationships with key target accounts to generate incremental and repeatable annual business
·Initiate and manage the RFI and RFP process, negotiating terms
·Assess potential business risks due to environmental changes impacting our relationship with accounts
·Contribute to client strategy, act as a role model for client leadership, and tailor offerings to suit client needs
·Represent the company confidently in client-facing roles, developing and maintaining strong partnerships
·Proactive, curious, collaborative, and inclusive self-starter

·Commitment to finding innovative solutions for client problems
·Dedication to personal and professional development
·Confident in client-facing roles, showcasing a proactive approach with a positive attitude
·Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutics, Life Sciences, or a related field
·Substantial leadership experience in Sales/Business Development and Key Account Management within a Commercial function
·Proven ability to translate customer orientation and expert advice into sales success and long-term customer relationships
·Strong networking skills and experience in establishing strategic partnerships
·Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
·Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects and clients simultaneously
·Comfortable utilizing technology as a key part of the sales process
