Job Summary: Sonographer – General, Gynaecology, and Obstetrics

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Sonographer to join our state-of-the-art imaging department in Central London. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide variety of ultrasound examinations in General, Gynaecological, and Obstetric specialties. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, an understanding of patient care, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ultrasound: Perform abdominal, renal, and soft tissue imaging.
Gynaecological Ultrasound: Conduct pelvic scans, follicle tracking, and assist with fertility assessments.
Obstetric Ultrasound: Carry out early pregnancy scans, anomaly scans, and growth scans, ensuring the best possible care for expectant mothers.
Produce clear, accurate, and high-quality diagnostic images to support clinical decision-making.
Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and ensure their comfort.
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including radiologists and obstetricians, to provide comprehensive patient care.
Follow departmental protocols, ensuring all health and safety, patient care, and imaging guidelines are met.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records for all patient interactions.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
HCPC Registered Sonographer (or equivalent qualification).
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in performing General, Gynaecology, and Obstetrics ultrasound.
Strong ability to produce high-quality images and assist in diagnostic decision-making.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to put patients at ease and clearly explain procedures.
Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care, especially when working with pregnant women and patients experiencing sensitive conditions.
Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Desirable Skills:
Experience in 3D/4D ultrasound.
Experience working in a busy, patient-focused environment.
Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
Knowledge of safeguarding and patient confidentiality protocols.
