Job Title: Respiratory Physiologist

Job Summary:
IMC Locums are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Respiratory Physiologist to support our Specialist Medicine service in Barking. The postholder will perform a wide range of complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures independently, including echocardiography, exercise tolerance testing, and device follow-up. The role requires autonomous practice, specialist knowledge, and clinical leadership within cardiac investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently perform and report transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs) to BSE standards.
- To independently perform diagnostic procedures and interpret lung function tests results for the following:
- Spirometry
- Reversibility Studies
- Static Lung Volumes
- Gas transfer (Diffusion) Tests
- FeNO (Fractional Exhaled Nitric Oxide)
Essential Criteria:
- BSc Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent relevant qualification.
- Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in cardiac physiology.
- RCCP or AHCS registration (or eligible for registration).
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and leadership skills.
- Able to work autonomously and manage a busy caseload.
- Right to work in the UK and enhanced DBS clearance.
