Job Summary:
An Echocardiographer (Cardiac Sonographer) is responsible for performing diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures to assess heart structure and function. The role includes acquiring high-quality echocardiographic images and collaborating with cardiologists and healthcare professionals to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) as ordered by a physician.
Obtain and analyze two-dimensional and Doppler echocardiographic images.
Prepare preliminary findings for review by the interpreting physician.
Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal image quality.
Accurately document procedures and maintain patient records in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Follow all safety, infection control, and patient care protocols.
Explain procedures to patients and address any concerns to ensure comfort and cooperation.
Work collaboratively with cardiologists, nurses, and other medical staff to deliver high-quality patient care.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
Certification: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or equivalent (e.g., RCS through CCI).
Experience: 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred; new graduates may be considered depending on the role.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Working Conditions:
Clinical or hospital environment with patient contact
May require standing for long periods and occasional lifting or positioning of patients
Variable work schedule, including evenings or weekends, depending on facility needs
