Job Summary:

Our client, a reputable private healthcare provider based in Birmingham, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated locum Echocardiographer to join their team. The successful candidate will provide professional and high-quality echocardiography services to patients, assisting in the diagnosis and management of heart conditions. This position is ideal for an experienced echocardiographer looking for flexibility and variety in a private healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms (TTE/TEE) for adult patients, ensuring high-quality imaging for diagnostic purposes.

  • Interpret and report echocardiogram results accurately, providing timely feedback to referring clinicians.

  • Work closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.

  • Maintain and manage patient records in accordance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards.

  • Support the development and implementation of departmental protocols and best practices.

  • Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of echocardiography equipment.

  • Contribute to patient care and demonstrate a high level of professionalism, empathy, and communication.

Essential Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in echocardiography, such as a BSc in Cardiac Physiology or equivalent.

  • Proven experience in performing and interpreting echocardiograms.

  • Strong knowledge of cardiac physiology and diagnostic imaging techniques.

  • Experience with both transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant healthcare regulations and protocols.

Desirable Skills:

  • Post-graduate qualifications in echocardiography (e.g., MSc or PG Cert).

  • Experience in a private healthcare or clinical setting.

  • Ability to work with a variety of diagnostic equipment and software.

  • Understanding of the latest advancements in echocardiographic technology and practices.
