Job Summary:
Our client, a reputable private healthcare provider based in Birmingham, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated locum Echocardiographer to join their team. The successful candidate will provide professional and high-quality echocardiography services to patients, assisting in the diagnosis and management of heart conditions. This position is ideal for an experienced echocardiographer looking for flexibility and variety in a private healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms (TTE/TEE) for adult patients, ensuring high-quality imaging for diagnostic purposes.
Interpret and report echocardiogram results accurately, providing timely feedback to referring clinicians.
Work closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
Maintain and manage patient records in accordance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards.
Support the development and implementation of departmental protocols and best practices.
Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of echocardiography equipment.
Contribute to patient care and demonstrate a high level of professionalism, empathy, and communication.
Essential Requirements:
Relevant qualification in echocardiography, such as a BSc in Cardiac Physiology or equivalent.
Proven experience in performing and interpreting echocardiograms.
Strong knowledge of cardiac physiology and diagnostic imaging techniques.
Experience with both transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Up-to-date knowledge of relevant healthcare regulations and protocols.
Desirable Skills:
Post-graduate qualifications in echocardiography (e.g., MSc or PG Cert).
Experience in a private healthcare or clinical setting.
Ability to work with a variety of diagnostic equipment and software.
Understanding of the latest advancements in echocardiographic technology and practices.
