Locum Cath Lab Cardiac Physiologist
Position: Locum Cardiac Physiologist — Cath Lab (Newcastle upon Tyne)

Contract Duration: Ongoing/As needed
Pay Rate: £35–£40 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialist cardiac physiology support within the cardiac catheterisation laboratory.
Assist with invasive procedures such as diagnostic angiography, PCI, pacing, and electrophysiology as required.
Participate in on‑call rotas to support 24‑hour cath lab services, including emergencies.
Rotate through different cardiac services to maintain and broaden clinical skills.
Contribute to departmental training and support the clinical team.
Person Specification:
Essential Qualifications & Registration:
BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent (e.g. PTP in Healthcare Science).
Registration with RCCP (Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists), HCPC, or AHCS (or working towards it).
Immediate Life Support (ILS) certification.
Experience & Skills:
At least one year of postgraduate clinical experience in cardiac physiology.
Demonstrated competence in invasive cath lab environments (e.g., scrub/circulator roles, physiology monitoring).
Solid understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and specialist procedures.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills.
Flexibility to cover varying hours and rotas, including potential on-call shifts.
Additional Requirements:
Right to work in the UK, valid passport/visa, DBS or equivalent clearance.
