Job Summary:
The Cath Lab Nurse/Technologist is responsible for assisting in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. This position involves direct patient care, preparation and maintenance of the catheterization suite, monitoring patients, and supporting the physician and team during procedures to ensure optimal outcomes and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare the cardiac catheterization lab and equipment for procedures.
Assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures, including angiograms, stent placements, pacemaker insertions, and electrophysiology studies.
Monitor patient vitals and status during procedures; recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.
Administer medications under physician supervision as appropriate (if licensed).
Maintain sterile techniques and adhere to infection control policies.
Operate radiologic and monitoring equipment with skill and precision.
Document procedure details, patient responses, and post-procedure observations accurately.
Educate patients and families about procedures and post-care instructions.
Participate in on-call rotation as required.
Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of equipment.
Adhere to all hospital policies and regulatory standards.
