Role Overview:
As a Veterinary Clinical Pathologist, you will play a pivotal role in the lab’s success. Your responsibilities will encompass cytology, interpreting and consulting on clinical chemistry, haematology, microbiology, and urinalysis. You will also analyse a diverse range of laboratory results, contributing significantly to the lab’s growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
•Diagnostic work (cytology and reporting)
•Supporting technicians in cross-training activities
•Coordination and support for visiting externship visitors
•Liaising with research and reagent suppliers
•Preparation and coordination of price lists
•Contributing to monthly newsletters and website/social content
•Coordinating implementation of new lab tests and analysers
•Preparing monthly reports and coordinating laboratory meetings
•Participation in congresses and sponsored events (LVS, BSAVA, etc.)
•Speaker for webinars and organization of internal events
•Providing support for residency programs
•Maintaining lab premises clean and tidy
•Assisting other departments as necessary

Requirements:
To be considered for this position, candidates must hold membership or be eligible for membership in the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Ideally, we prefer candidates with board certification in Clinical Pathology (ECVCP, ACVP, FRCPath) or board eligibility. Prospective employees should be prepared to work in a dynamic and productive business setting.
Working Hours:
The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, allowing for flexibility and negotiability to ensure a healthy work-life balance. Our standard hours are from 9 am to 6 pm, excluding weekends and bank holidays, providing dedicated time for personal pursuits and rejuvenation.
