We have a fantastic opportunity for a locum Physiotherapist to join a leading teaching hospital, based in Bristol. They are seeking a qualified Physio with previous MSK experienc.
Job Description
The musculoskeletal (MSK) service delivers assessment & treatment for people with musculoskeletal problems or orthopaedic conditions in Bristol, North Somerset & South Gloucestershire (BNSSG). It includes First Contact Physiotherapists in a number of South Gloucestershire and Bristol primary care networks, physiotherapy, podiatry and the MSK interface service (MSKI). Our aim is to offer excellent assessment and treatment of people with musculoskeletal problems in a timely manner; clinicians are predominantly physiotherapists but the service also employs Podiatrists, Orthotists & GPs. The MSKI service is an adult orthopaedic interface clinic between primary and secondary care whose goal is to provide patients with musculoskeletal conditions with a specialist assessment and management plan. These patients who would traditionally have been referred to secondary care are now managed in a community setting and receive an expert opinion on their condition. As a system provider the MSKI service provides specialist advice and guidance to primary care and other community services whist simultaneously working to support developments in the MSK pathway to improve efficiency and patient experience as part of the wider local healthcare system. We operate from 3 bases in South Gloucestershire, 11 sites in Bristol and 3 bases in North Somerset. Within their contracted hours an MSKI Physiotherapist maybe asked to deliver clinics, Monday to Friday 8am-8pm (excluding bank holidays). Also as part of improved access the MSK service may deliver clinics on weekends in the future. Within the Sirona care and health team, we differentiate between different levels of a practicing physiotherapist by using the title ‘MSK Interface Physiotherapist’, or ‘Advanced MSKI Physiotherapist’. This job description refers to that of an ‘MSKI Physiotherapist’, banded at 7 on the Agenda for Change pay scale.
Position Requirements
- HCPC Registered
- Minimum of two years postgraduate experience
- Previous clinical experience performing a similar role within an MSK setting
