IMC Locums are recruiting for a Band 4/5 Senior Phlebotomist South Essex

Pay rate: Umbrella and PAYE payments available

£14- £18 per hour

Job Description

• To be responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the Phlebotomy staff.
• To provide & control an efficient service, ensuring that appropriate staffing levels & professional standards are maintained at all times within the team.
• To be responsible for liaising and communicating in a timely & effective manner with all Phlebotomy staff as well as other internal & external users of department services.
• To be responsible for identifying and resolving issues & errors within Phlebotomy including initially dealing with routine disciplinary matters or any issues arising with other staff members and as appropriate supporting the Phlebotomy Manager to resolve issues or errors that arise.
• To participate in the monitoring of change & implement any improvement to develop service needs.
• To maintain & be responsible for the following staffing areas in accordance with Department & iPP Policies & Procedures to ensure Quality standards are adhered to, including documentation:
• Complete and monitor sickness absence and conduct return to work interviews, assisting Phlebotomy manager with absence management
• Appraisals, performance, personal objectives and development reviews
• Training & Mentoring
• Mandatory training and other appropriate courses
• Provide constructive feedback regarding performance
• Provide support and advice for the development of individuals and teams

Position Requirements

  • Must have phlebotomy certification
  • Customer service skills
  • professional manner
  • Band 4/5
  • Minimum 12 months experience
  • 3 GCSE ‘O’ levels or equivalent which must include English
  • A minimum of 12 months previous phlebotomy experience
  • Excellent communication skills, a caring and professional attitude are essential, as well as the ability to work under pressure in all areas
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and spoken English Language skills
  • Previous experience and confidence using IT applications including Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Full UK driving license and use of car for work
