We have a fantastic opportunity for a locum Physiotherapist to join a leading teaching hospital, based in Oxfordshire. They are seeking a qualified Therapist with previous Neuro experience.
Job Description
- To provide high quality, safe and effective Physiotherapy services, as part of an effective multi-professional team to patients requiring acute neuroscience care.
- To work collaboratively with patients and their carers to effectively assess, goal plan and treat patients following admission to hospital and strive to maximise their independence and quality of life.
- To assess and treat the neuroscience patient including a complete neuro assessment and be able to select appropriate interventions and discharge planning.
- To assess and treat routine respiratory symptoms that patients present with on the ward.
- To assess and treat routine spinal cord injured patients including cauda equina, laminectomies, ACDF.
- To work effectively and timely with the therapy team and wider MDT.
- The locum must have previous NHS experience in an acute setting and have worked in the field of neurology/ neuroscience/stroke.
- Basic respiratory skills are also required however some refresher training could be offered.
- Experience in mobilising patients with mobility aids and progression on mobility aids.
- The locum should have experience of assessment and treatment and discharge planning in an acute setting.
Position Requirements
- HCPC Registered
- Minimum of two years postgraduate experience
- Previous clinical experience performing a similar role within a Neuro setting
