We have a fantastic opportunity for a locum Physiotherapist to join a leading teaching hospital, but based in Birmingham. They are seeking a qualified Physiotherapist with previous Neuro experience.
Job Description
- Starting 04/01/2023 – 3 months (minimum)
- Full time hours (Monday – Friday)
- The successful candidate will be working within a strong team.
Position Requirements
- HCPC Registered
- Minimum of 4/5 years postgraduate experience
- Previous clinical experience performing a similar role within a Neuro setting.
- Oversee the day to day running of the physiotherapy service on the Inpatient Neuro-rehabilitation Unit.
- Provide high quality specialist physiotherapy input to the regional Inpatient Neuro-rehabilitation Unit (INRU).
- Assess complex patient’s physiotherapy needs, plan, carry out and coordinate an individual treatment plan and delegates elements of the rehabilitation programme physiotherapy and rehabilitation assistants.
- Deliver a range of Physiotherapy treatments including physiotherapeutic handling and positioning, exercise programmes, gait re-education and electrotherapy.
- Deliver a respiratory Physiotherapy assessments and use respiratory Physiotherapy techniques with neurological patients, including patients with tracheostomy.
- Responsible for delegation elements of the rehabilitation programme to Physiotherapy and rehabilitation assistants, other interdisciplinary team (IDT) members e.g. Physiotherapy exercise programmes and postural management plans.
- Responsible for coordinating, undertaking and advising on manual handling, clinical risk assessments and home visits as appropriate.
