We have a fantastic opportunity for a locum Support Worker to join a leading teaching hospital, based in South West London.
Job Title: Activity Support Worker
Professionally accountable to: Lead Occupational Therapist, Forensic Services
Band: 4
Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 9am – 5pm
Base: Forensic Services, Springfield Hospital
Liaises with: Service users, Occupational Therapy team colleagues, MDT colleagues, carers, voluntary sector & other relevant external agencies
Job Summary
To participate as a member of the ward team and occupational therapy department in the provision of a range of therapeutic and recreational to support the rehabilitation of service users experiencing mental illness and who have a history of offending. This programme will be developed and implemented with the supervision of a registered occupational therapist.
Service Description
The Forensic Inservice user Service is comprised of both medium and low secure wards. The service provides treatment under the Mental Health Act for men and women with mental health problems and who are considered to pose a significant risk of harm to themselves or others. The primary aim of the Forensic Inservice user service is to provide a safe and secure environment in which to support forensic service users to progress towards a more independent and meaningful life.
