Locum Echocardiographer – Central London

Working Hours: Monday to Friday; clinic open from 08:00 to 20:00 (minimum 4 days per week)
The Echocardiographer is responsible for performing and interpreting high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), stress echocardiograms, and, where trained, transesophageal echocardiograms (TOE). This role supports diagnosis and treatment planning for patients with suspected or known cardiac conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Perform and report on transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) independently.
Assist in transesophageal (TOE) and stress echocardiography where applicable.
Work closely with cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams to support patient care.
Maintain accurate, clear, and timely documentation in patient records.
Ensure equipment is maintained, calibrated, and operated to a high standard.
Adhere to departmental and national protocols and clinical guidelines.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff or trainees if required.
Contribute to quality assurance and audit processes.
Participate in continuing professional development and training programs.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent.
Postgraduate training in echocardiography.
Accreditation (desirable): British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) or European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI).
Minimum of 1–2 years of independent echo scanning experience
