Overview

IMC are looking for an experience Health and Safety Manager for a private laboratory in London for a part time 4 month Contract.

This is a Hybrid role with requirements to travel into the main Laboratory based in London on occasions.

The right person would be required to to work with internal and external stakeholders to oversee implementation of all Health and Safety related policies across the business, including collection sites for collection of clinical samples from clients, laboratories and all staff working environments. Our client are accreditation with UKAS to ISO standards 15189 and 22870 (medical laboratories and point-of-care testing), and is registered with the CQC. It is expected that the post holder will take the lead on ensuring that the Health and Safety requirements of these standards are met and maintained. The post holder will provide advice and support to stakeholders on all health and safety matters, whilst regularly reviewing all H&S policies and risk assessments to continually improve safety for all personnel.

●  Ownership of the company’s Health and Safety Policy and provide oversight for the implementation of the policy
●  Carry out a regular review of existing documentation to an agreed schedule
●  Ownership of the risk assessment process providing specialist support where required
●  Responsible for ensuring that all sites have a Fire Safety Risk Assessment and appropriate procedures in place
●  Site inspections and workplace audits
●  Preparation of communicable disease risk assessments and planning
●  Provide staff consultations, (where applicable) to assess remote and mobile working environments
●  Advice on laboratory health and safety processes
●  Coordination with contractor and supplier organisations
●  Creation of safety plans for ad hoc projects in unusual environments or locations
●  Coordination with teams undertaking multiple varied projects at various locations around UK
●  Ensuring the company meets obligations on accident/injury/illness reporting and that appropriate reports and investigations are carried        out
●  Coordinate with HR team to ensure initial job training and induction processes are robust
●  Developing staff wellness projects
●  Providing advice on H&S matters to team members at all levels
●  Assisting in developing H&S training for staff

Requirements

  • Registered with the CQC
  • Health & Safety Qualification
  • Management experience
  • Experience working in Laboratory
  • Knowledge of ISO standard 9001/14001/45001/2012
