Job Title: Band 5/6 Occupational Therapist

Location: Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford, OX3 7HE

End Date: 4 months

Working Pattern: 37.5 Hours per week

Shift Pattern: 8:15-4:30

Specific Skills:

  • To undertake assessment, treatment, education and provide support to people referred to the Occupational Therapy Service (including advice to carers) under the supervision of the Senior OT.
  • To work autonomously when required, reporting to senior Occupational Therapist.
  • To formulate and implement treatment plans on an individual and group basis, identifying patient needs and goals using sound clinical reasoning.
  • To assist and present Patient Education sessions.
  • To assist the OT Team Leader or Senior Occupational Therapist in the day-to-day supervision and delegation of routine OT activities to the OT assistants or technicians where appropriate.
  • To assess for and provide adaptive equipment in line with departmental guidelines.
  • To record all OT intervention in compliance with the Trust, RCOT, HCPC and NHS guidelines.
  • To continuously evaluate OT intervention and to maintain and develop a high standard of clinical and professional practice at all times.
  • To participate in the Weekend/Bank Holiday working rota as required.
  • To participate in clinical supervision and identify own supervision needs.
